Come One, Come All
Including tips, tricks, information, and links.
Charlie Ray is the husband and wife duo, Ross and Jess. Hi!
Want to know more? Read here.
We live in a little town called Port Elizabeth, it's nothing fancy but it's home. We have sandy beaches, great food and two cats.
That’s an easy one! Because we try not photograph the same location twice, a large part of our job is traveling. Internationally or locally we always have our bags packed ready to go!
We shoot every wedding together!
This is something we recently got asked and we have never though to describe it, it was just our ethos.
- Observant and honest.
We won’t force you into a moment that is not yours, we will observe what it happening and capture those memories and the moments in-between often missed.
We typically start 2 hours before the ceremony, unless otherwise noted. We will chat you through our schedule before your day.
Our hours are consecutive but don’t include getting to and from your wedding or shoot. Basically we work out from when our first shot was taken to the last one recorded. We will try help advise the best plan of action so we are driving around as little as possible so we can capture as much as possible.
Yes no problem, we may be tired but offer us a cold sprite and we will be game.
We will just invoice you after the event.
While we fully understand the question, this is a little like going to a restaurant and asking for a raw chicken. It isn’t finished the product. In the same manner, while we shoot in a raw format, we edit each image so that everything looks beautiful and cohesive when you receive your final edited photographs.
This timeline is decided based on the package you decide best suits you.
On average 1 year but we do have an option of up to 5 years.
We are both full-time photographers, but because we are creatives we feed our drive in many ways. I am a designer by qualification, we are also UX & UI specialist and Ross animates but we also need some time to smell those roses. For this reason we have limited the number of weddings we take in a 12 month period. 16 is our magic number, if we are booked for a month it may not mean we have a wedding booked every single day but instead something else that may be keeping us either glued to our desk or face planted into our view finders.
Your images are yours to share and print to your heart's delight. The only limitation are on commercial usage. Please contact us if you would like to enquire about commercial use.
While we hope that it will never have to come to it, we do have plans in place incase of unforeseen circumstances. We explain this in more detail in our contract but we have a network of fellow photographers to with shoot with us or in place of us. You will of course get a say in who the stand in photographer is, as we know that you put a lot of thought into choosing us as your photographers.
Our engagement and couple sessions take place in fall through spring, and are scheduled Monday-Friday, as we are typically shooting weddings on the weekend. We can however make an exception it’s just dependent on the season.
Yes, printing your album is so important. Life gets busy and it’s something that can very easily forgotten. Each album is printed on a high quality matt stock (Fedrigoni Splendorgel 160 gsm) which is acid-free, archival art paper, and then hand-stitched and bound by one of the most experienced hand binders in the country. All our albums are finished off with a beautiful linen cover, much like the old novels that your grandparents might have in their bookcases. We also include your names in gold or copper foiling as well as the location of your special day, because we know you chose a place that is close to your heart. Our albums are designed to last generations, and with a little bit of care they will be in your family for many years to come.
Once you approve the final design, the album should take 3-4 weeks.
It's simple, just drop us a mail and tell us about your story and we will send our pricing and get the conversation going.
Your photos won’t be eaten or die, they will outlive you.
Spend your budget on whats important. The memories.
Use all your sense on the day.
Hear your mom say she loves you,
Feel the texture of your dress or suit,
Smell the flowers,
Taste that food you spent money on.
This is your day, don’t miss out on it.
Feel free to drop us a message on our contact page and we'll get back to you asap.
