Kat and Kobus | Forest Edge
When we were approached by Rebecca from Runaway Romance to document our first ever elopement, we were beyond excited! Kat and Kobus were exactly as she described; loving and down-to-earth. Fellow introverts like ourselves, for them it made perfect sense to say their I-do’s with only the creatures of the Knysna forest listening in.
They spent a relaxed morning getting ready together at Forest Edge Cottages. While Rebecca prepped their beautiful decor, only a few steps away Kobus suited up in anticipation to see his bride to be. On their own time the two of them slipped into the overgrown forest to make their personal vows. Their ceremony reflected the spirit of their relationship; simple, beautiful and intimate, joined together with a promise.
We convinced these two to take a drive with us to Jubilee Creek, a section of the forest with a special place in our own hearts (Ross proposed to me there only a few years ago) and took some quiet time documenting as they took in the precious moments of being a newly wed couple.
As the sun set behind the tree, they tucked into the most delicious picnic style platter that we had ever seen (Rebecca again outdid herself!), and we snuck away to let them take in the stars overhead.
