Karlien and Francois | Klienrivier, Cockscomb
On the outskirts of Uitenhage, just a stone’s throw from Port Elizabeth, the Klein Rivier farm has been a special place for the Roux family through-out Karlien’s life. Their holidays were often spent camping in the valley and hiking through the mountain gorge, so it was no surprise to us when Karlien suggested we take an extended stroll to find some beautiful spots for their photoshoot.
We were completely blown away by the natural beauty that surrounds this part of the Eastern Cape. Their intimate ceremony was held in a sheltered opening on one of the hiking trails, allowing for all their friends and family to be covered from the bright summer sun by the tree canopy. Afterwards we all headed down the dirt road to the main camping grounds for a proper South African braai. The relaxed atmosphere around the fire was contagious and we couldn’t help but feel part of Karlien and Francois’ celebrations.
We walked away from this wedding so glad that we had the pleasure of being part of our second Roux wedding. Both Karlien and her sister Jeannie have set the bar very high for non traditional weddings and we are so honoured that we got to be part of this one too!
